Each Rider in RideIQ has at least one designated Caregiver. Caregivers receive updates about rides via text, can monitor rides using the Caregiver app, and, depending on your organization's permissions, can cancel or edit rides.
When you add a Caregiver to a Rider's profile, we send a series of messages to onboard them to our platform and send text messages to update them on each ride while it is in progress.
Onboarding text messages:
Caregivers receive the following messages when they added as a Caregiver for a Rider:
- A welcome message letting them know you’ve selected HopSkipDrive for their Rider and that rides will be starting soon.
- For Caregivers of Riders in the IEP / 504 / Special needs category, a link to a dedicated onboarding page.
- A message reminding them to download the Caregiver app.
Scheduling messages:
Caregivers receive the following messages with information about their Riders' schedule:
- A message with the date, time, and pickup and drop-off locations when a ride or series is scheduled.
- A message when a ride or series is edited, including any changes to dates, times, or pickup/drop-off locations.
- A message when a ride or series is canceled.
Ride status messages:
Caregivers receive the following real-time updates about their Riders' rides:
- A message the night before the ride listing their Rider's rides and pickup times.
- A message when a CareDriver is on their way including the current ETA, CareDriver photo, and vehicle information.
- If applicable, a text message if the CareDriver is delayed.
- A message letting them know when the CareDriver has arrived and reminding the Caregiver of their Rider’s code word.
- A message when the Rider has been picked up.
- A message when the Rider has been dropped off.
