When you are aware of an upcoming address change for a rider, you can use find and replace to schedule the change to take effect on a certain date for a seamless transition to the new Location.
Understanding find and replace
Find and replace is a tool that allows you to schedule changes to the locations on a rider's profile and their upcoming rides. You might use it when:
- A rider is moving to a new residence
- An after-school program or activity moves to a new location
This feature is powerful because unlike simply editing a location, find and replace does not make any changes to the location itself. The location will remain the same and will be available to other rides and riders after the scheduled change. Instead of altering the location, find and replace makes changes to where the location is used: the rider profile and their rides.
Even more importantly, find and replace can be scheduled to take effect on a specific date. Once you have set the desired date, RideIQ will automatically identify all the applicable rides and update the specified address. You can set the change as soon are you are aware of it, saving you time and ensuring that CareDrivers aren't confused by last-minute address changes.
How to schedule an address change with find and replace
Follow the steps below to schedule an address update using find and replace:
- On the Rider's profile, in the Locations section, click Add.

- If you are creating a new location, add a name, select the location type, and assign a calendar, if desired. When naming the location, keep in mind that the name must be unique, so you may need to add details such as the date to differentiate between residences. How to tell that Find and Replace has been scheduled for a location
In the Locations section of a rider's profile, both the new location and the location that has been replaced will be tagged to ensure you don't duplicate a colleague's work and to make it clear when the change will take place.
