CareDrivers are independent contractors who choose which rides they will claim from HopSkipDrive's marketplace. Offering rides this way gives CareDrivers control of their schedules and helps ensure rides are claimed, since they are not dependent on a single CareDriver's availability. This means that a specific CareDriver cannot be assigned to exclusively drive a given Rider.
Primary CareDrivers
While CareDrivers cannot be assigned to Riders, the Ride Series feature gives CareDrivers the option to opt in to becoming the Primary CareDriver for a series.The Primary CareDriver has exclusive access to claim rides in the series before they are made available to other CareDrivers as long as they claim at least 80% of the rides available. Some rides may be driven by other CareDrivers when the Primary CareDriver is not available.
If the Primary CareDriver for a series chooses not to continue or is no longer able to claim 80% or more of the rides, the series will become available for another CareDriver to claim from the marketplace.
