If you share responsibility for a rider's transportation with another school district, you can use shared billing to automatically divide the cost of each ride. Read more about how shared billing works here. This article explains how to find detailed information about charges for shared riders.
Invoices for shared riders
Both districts who share billing for a rider receive a monthly invoice and backup documentation. In the invoice, you will find the total amount your district owes for all shared riders. In the backup documentation, you will find detailed information broken down by ride. Each district is responsible for 50% of the cost of each ride for a shared rider.
Ride charges in RideIQ
RideIQ displays the amount your district will be billed for each shared ride (50% of the total cost of each ride). This is true whether you are the rider's Attending district or Residence district.
You can review ride charges on the Rides page, see a detailed breakdown in the Ride Overview panel of a specific ride, or create a report you can sort and filter with Reports.
See fares on the Rides page
On the main Rides page or the Rides list for a particular rider, click the Completed or Canceled tab to review ride fares. Rides with shared billing will be marked SA (indicating you are the Attending district) or SR (indicating you are the Residence district).
See detailed fare information for a specific ride
To see a fare breakdown for a particular shared ride, select the desired ride, then click Fare Details on the Ride Overview panel.
Report on charges for shared riders
In Reports, you have the option to filter a report to show only shared riders. You can also group report results by Residence district, allowing you to see detailed information about riders you share with specific districts. Learn more about reporting for Shared billing here.
