We will be enforcing wait time fees for eligible accounts starting March 1, 2024.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a law in the United States dedicated to safeguarding the rights of individuals with disabilities. Central to the ADA is the mandate for "reasonable accommodations," ensuring that transportation services are accessible to all, including those with disabilities. As part of our commitment to inclusivity, HopSkipDrive maintains a standard wait time of 10 minutes, providing opportunities for individuals with disabilities to access our transportation services.
To accommodate Riders who certify that they, or someone they frequently travel with, need more time to get into a HopSkipDrive vehicle due to a disability, we are implementing the following process for appeals regarding wait time fees.
-
Certification of Disability-Related Need: Riders who certify that they, or someone they frequently travel with, require additional time to board a HopSkipDrive vehicle due to a disability will have the option to indicate this need during the booking process. Please reach out to support@hopskipdrive.com to add notes for accommodation to the Rider profile. Notes for accommodation can be added to the Rider profile, under Rider Notes.
- Appeals Process: In the event that a rider is charged wait time fees due to disability-related need, Organizers can submit an appeal by emailing support@hopskipdrive.com and providing documentation or additional information if necessary.
