When you enter an address to be used as a pickup or drop-off location, RideIQ uses the default location provided by Google Maps for that address, usually the front of the building. However, sometimes riders need to be picked up or dropped off at specific places that do not match that default. For example, a school may use a back parking lot for drop-offs. To account for this, you can set a precise location for any RideIQ location by dragging a map pin to the desired point.
When you set a precise location, the change applies immediately to all rides using the location.
How to set a precise pickup or drop-off location
Follow the steps below to set a precise map pin:
- On the Locations page, create a new location or select an existing location and click Edit.
- In Precise location, click Add pin.

-
Click and drag the map pin to the desired location, then click Apply.

To prevent confusion, make sure you set the pin somewhere that is accessible by car. If the CareDriver will be required to get out of the car to meet the rider, you must give written instructions in the location notes. - To move the pin again, click Edit pin. To return the pin to the original default location, click Reset. When you are satisfied with your changes, click Save.
Setting up multiple precise pins at the same location
For many locations, you may need more than one precise pickup or drop-off location. For example:
- The precise pickup location may be different from the precise drop-off location.
- Different riders may need individual pickup or drop-off locations, such as program-specific entrances.
When this is the case, create a new location for each precise location. Give each location a descriptive name and assign it to the appropriate rides.
