When searching for available rides and Ride Series to claim, you can adjust your search preferences to find the rides that work best for you.
How to access search preferences
To adjust your search preferences, tap the search settings displayed at the top of the Available Rides or Available Ride Series page.
Understanding the search preferences
In the app, you can manage filters to show only rides that meet certain requirements. You can also control how the available rides are sorted so you see the rides you are most likely to want to claim first.
Rides near
This setting controls the general area where you want to see rides. You can choose:

Your home: see rides near the home address associated with your CareDriver account. This setting is best when you are looking for rides close to where you live.

Current location: see rides near your current location, as detected from your phone. This setting is best when you are looking for rides that are starting soon and you are not at home.

Another address: see rides near another saved address. You can add multiple saved addresses here to quickly search for rides nearby. For example, you can add a work address to find rides near your workplace. To add an address, tap Another address, then enter the desired address. The address will be saved and you can select it as a sort option going forward.
Sort by
This setting controls the order you see rides displayed on the Available Rides list. Adjust your preferences so you see the rides that are the best fit for you first. You can sort by:

Recommended: see rides that are recommended by HopSkipDrive's algorithm at the top of the list. This is based on factors like commute distance, whether you have claimed rides for the rider in the past, and fit with other rides on your schedule.

Repeat riders: see rides listed in order of the number of times you have driven the rider. This is a good option if you prefer to drive riders you are familiar with. You can see the number of times you have driven the rider listed in the Rides together tag.

Commute to pickup: see rides with the shortest drive to pickup at the top of the list. The commute distance is calculated from the location you select in Rides near. This is a good option if you prefer to drive rides that are close by.
Tip: you can enter the approximate drop-off address of a ride you have already claimed in the Rides near field to help find back-to-back rides that fit together well.
- Estimated earnings: see rides with the highest total estimated earnings at the top of the list. This is a good option if you prefer to drive the highest-paying rides.
Commute
Use the slider to adjust how far you are willing to drive to the first pickup. This will filter out rides that are outside that radius.
Pickup time
Use the sliders to select the hours when you are available to drive. Rides with pickup times outside the selected window will be filtered out.
