Editing a Location

Adding a location in RideIQ allows you to add the address as a pickup or drop-off location, complete with pickup and drop-off notes and any saved calendars, just by typing the name. This article explains how to make changes to a location including name, pickup and drop-off notes, and associated calendars.

How to edit a location

Follow the steps below to edit a location:

1. On the Locations page, select the location you'd like to edit.
    
2. Click Edit and make any desired changes. You can edit:
    
   • Precise location pin: Make sure CareDrivers know exactly where to go with a precise location pin. Click Add pin to set up a pin for a location that does not currently have one, or click Edit pin to reposition an existing pin. Learn more about precise location pins in this article.
      
   • Name:  Update the location name as needed. Do not enter a street address here. Learn more about updating a street address in this article.
      
   • Type: Select the appropriate location type: Residence, School, or Other. It is important to set an accurate location type for accurate reporting and to enable the correct type-specific features. 
      
   • Calendar: Assign a new calendar or remove an assigned calendar. Changes to the assigned calendar for a location will immediately impact any Ride Series using it as an anchor location. 
      
     • New rides will be scheduled for any previous days off or breaks that are not on the new assigned calendar.
     • Rides scheduled on days off or breaks on the new calendar will be canceled. 
       
       
   • Pickup and drop-off instructions: CareDrivers will be able to see these instructions when picking up or dropping off any rider at the location. Clear, concise instructions support smooth pickups and drop-offs, so it is a good best practice to regularly review and update these instructions.
      
3. Click Save to confirm your changes.
