Any vehicle that is used by a CareDriver to drive with HopSkipDrive must pass a vehicle inspection. Inspections are required when you first apply. Once you have been certified, the vehicle must pass an annual inspection. Learn more about what the inspection involves in this article.
Accepted inspections
HopSkipDrive accepts the following vehicle inspections.

For Virginia residents: the state of Virginia already requires an annual vehicle inspection. If your vehicle passes the annual inspection, the mechanic will provide an inspection sticker and an inspection checklist. Upload a copy of the inspection checklist for your vehicle that was completed in the last 10 months.
Please note that we are unable to accept the inspection sticker as proof of inspection.

Maryland residents may submit upload a copy of the state of Maryland inspection sheet for your vehicle. Please ensure that the inspection was completed within the last 10 months.

Out-of-state residents may still obtain an inspection in Virginia to satisfy the requirements. Print and take this HopSkipDrive Vehicle Inspection form to a certified mechanic in Virginia to complete your vehicle inspection. Submit a photo or scan of the completed form to HopSkipDrive.
- If you drive for another rideshare company such as Uber or Lyft, you may upload a copy of the 19-point inspection completed within the last six (6) months, and we will accept that as proof of your annual vehicle inspection.
- Otherwise, print and take this HopSkipDrive Vehicle Inspection form to a certified mechanic in Virginia to complete your vehicle inspection. Submit a photo or scan of the completed form to HopSkipDrive.

You can get your vehicle inspected at any official Virginia inspection station, which includes many automotive repair shops, dealerships, and service centers.
