All California CareDrivers must complete the First Aid for Pediatrics & Adults course through our partner, Heart Saver Institute. Please note that we cannot accept other First Aid certificates at this time.
How to register for the First Aid course
- Go to Heart Saver Institute’s First Aid Course.
- Click Buy Now ($24.95).
- Fill out the registration form with your email and create a password.
- After payment, your course will appear under My Courses and will be available immediately.
Onboarding credits
If you are applying to be a CareDriver, HopSkipDrive will credit you for the cost of the First Aid course. To request a credit, submit your receipt using this Onboarding Credit Form. Your credit payment will be processed after you complete your first ride.
If you are already a CareDriver and are renewing your First Aid certificate, HopSkipDrive does not credit you for the cost of the First Aid course.
Completing the course
- You can use the course materials while taking the online test (it is not timed).
- You must score at least 80% to pass.
- Your certificate will be available under My Certificate within 24 hours of passing.
- If you don’t pass, you’ll need to repurchase the course. HopSkipDrive will only reimburse you for the cost of your first attempt.
