What is the Hello and Welcome promotion?

HopSkipDrive offers the Hello and Welcome earnings guarantee to all newly certified CareDrivers. Terms and Conditions apply.

If you claim and complete 10 rides within 14 days of being certified as a CareDriver, HopSkipDrive guarantees that you will earn at least $500.

In some areas during certain times, HopSkipDrive may offer CareDrivers more time to complete their first ten rides. If that is the case, CareDrivers are guaranteed to earn at least $500 if they complete at least ten rides during the Hello and Welcome Extension Period. How does the Hello and Welcome promotion work?

This promotion is an earnings guarantee. That means part of the money you earn comes from ride fares and part of it may come in the form of an additional payment from HopSkipDrive, if needed.

To see how that works for this promotion, review these examples:

  • CareDriver A claims and completes ten rides during the Hello and Welcome Promotion period. The earnings from those rides add up to $350. In this case, the CareDriver will receive an additional payment of $150, for a total of $500. 
     
  • CareDriver B claims and completes ten rides during the Hello and Welcome Promotion Period. The earnings from those rides add up to $515. In this case, the CareDriver does not receive any additional payments because the CareDriver has earned the guaranteed amount already.
     

What happens if I claim a ride but then it gets canceled?

Sometimes Ride Organizers cancel a ride. This can happen because the rider is sick, the school has a snow day, or the ride is simply not needed. For this promotion, a paid cancellation will count toward your total number of rides. You can learn more about which canceled rides count as paid cancellations here.

When will I receive my promotion payment?

If you complete the promotion requirements and your total earnings during the promotion period are less than $500, HopSkipDrive will issue a payment for the remaining amount as part of your next weekly payment. Keep in mind that the payment will be some amount less than $500. 

Why is my payment less than $500?

The Hello and Welcome promotion is an earnings guarantee. Part or all of the $500 total earnings will come from ride fares. See the examples above.
