When weather such as snow or ice makes driving unsafe, school districts may choose to delay the start of school to wait for conditions to improve. Weather delay decisions are made by school districts, not HopSkipDrive.
When a weather delay is announced, HopSkipDrive and the Ride Organizers work to update ride schedules as quickly as possible. You will then see the updated ride time in your CareDriver app. When there is inclement weather in your area, we recommend reviewing your upcoming rides ahead of time to keep an eye out for any changes.
What do I do if a ride is moved to a time I'm not available?
If a ride you have claimed is moved to a time when you cannot complete it, you can cancel in the app. In Cancellation reason, select Ride was moved to a time I'm not available. If the ride is starting within the next 90 minutes, call 844-HOP-SKIP (844-467-7546), option 1, to cancel.
Rides canceled with this reason will not count toward your last-minute cancellation rate.
Will I be paid for rides I cancel due to weather delays?
