Because most riders who use HopSkipDrive are children, the rider profile includes settings to require a booster seat and control whether the rider is allowed to sit in the front seat.
- If you schedule and manage rides, you can manage these settings in the rider's profile.
- If a school district or other organization manages your rider's rides, you can view the safety settings in the rider's profile. To request a change to the safety settings, contact the ride organizer directly.
Rider safety settings
The following safety settings are available for a rider:
Booster seat:
- When this setting is enabled, the CareDriver who picks up your rider will be required to provide a booster seat.
-
Booster seats are required for riders who are eight years old or younger (nine years old or younger in Colorado).
- As a caregiver, you can choose to require a booster seat for a rider older than eight if desired.
|
Will a booster seat requirement make it harder to find a CareDriver? Don't worry! Booster seat requirements are very common. There are likely to be plenty of CareDrivers in your area with the necessary equipment. |
Ride in front seat:
- When this setting is enabled, the rider will be allowed to ride in the front passenger seat. In general, your rider might ride in the front seat if there are multiple riders on the same ride and there aren't enough back seats.
- Riders must be at least twelve years old and at least 4'9" tall to ride in the front seat.
