The Primary CareDriver + Program is an optional program that school districts and other organizations can choose to join to provide more consistency for Riders.
How the Primary CareDriver + Program works
We know that many riders prefer to have the same CareDriver. Many CareDrivers also enjoy driving the same rider regularly. The Primary CareDriver + Program supports that consistency by offering an extra payment to CareDrivers who claim and complete rides in the same Ride Series regularly.
Below you will find answers to some common questions about the Primary CareDriver + Program:
Will my Rider have the same driver in the morning and the afternoon?
Because of the way CareDrivers claim rides, it is possible your rider will have different CareDrivers for their morning ride and afternoon ride. However, they can expect a consistent CareDriver every morning and a consistent CareDriver every afternoon.
Why did my Rider have a different CareDriver today?
Even with the Primary CareDriver + Program, there may be times when a different CareDriver claims your rider's ride, such as when the regular CareDriver is sick and unable to drive on a given day.
Can I choose the CareDriver who claims my Rider's rides?
CareDrivers can choose which rides they claim, so HopSkipDrive is not able to assign rides to a specific CareDriver or re-assign a Ride Series that a CareDriver has already claimed. However, you are welcome to encourage a CareDriver to claim your Rider's Ride Series or contact the organization that books your rides if you have a specific CareDriver to request. To claim a Primary CareDriver + Ride series, the CareDriver must have opted in to the Primary CareDriver + Program.
