If the CareDriver has arrived at the pickup location early or on-time and the ride’s pickup is still delayed 10 minutes or more, a Wait Fee of $10 will be charged. The Wait Fee will only be applied once per ride. For example, it will not be added again if the wait time is another 10 minutes
While the cost of the ride is fixed and will not vary if the rides are longer than expected, CareDrivers are still paid for the time they spend on rides. If their wait is particularly long, the Wait Fee must be charged so HopSkipDrive can cover the additional cost of paying the CareDriver.
If the CareDriver has not arrived by the scheduled pickup time, the clock on wait time will not begin until they arrive at the pickup location. Scheduling rides with complicated pickup notes or asking a CareDriver to wait for the rider may trigger a Wait Fee to be applied to a ride, if it causes the ride to be delayed 10 minutes or more. Refunds will not be provided for Wait Fees.
