It's important to maintain a clean vehicle to help ensure your riders are comfortable during every ride.
If a vehicle has a dirty interior or unpleasant odor (such as cigarette smoke) riders may feel uncomfortable and Ride Organizers may choose to prevent you from accessing their rides. Some riders may also have allergies or sensitivities to certain odors or pet hair, so we ask CareDrivers to take any necessary precautions before each ride to ensure their vehicle is clean and ready for use.
Tips for cleaning your vehicle
It's recommended that you regularly clean the areas of your vehicle that you or your riders frequently touch, such as:
- Steering wheel, directional and wiper control stalks, and gear levers
- Navigation screens, radio and climate buttons
- Door and center console armrests, handles, latches and lock buttons (inside & out)
- Seat belts, buckles and adjusters
- Window buttons and mirrors
- Cupholders, cubbyholes and air conditioner vents
After cleaning your vehicle, dispose of any gloves or personal protective equipment you used and wash your hands thoroughly to avoid placing germs right back onto a freshly cleaned surface.
Choosing cleaning products
Some cleaning materials may be problematic for those with respiratory issues and/or can damage your vehicle. Learn more about which disinfecting products have been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and be sure to review manufacturer labels to prevent damage to your vehicle.
