How does the Welcome to Ride Series promotion work?

The Welcome to Ride Series promotion is an earnings guarantee available to newly certified CareDrivers who complete at least 5 rides within 10 days of being certified or during the Hello and Welcome Extension Period, if applicable.

Eligible CareDrivers who complete at least 12 rides as the Primary CareDriver for a Ride Series within 40 days of certification are guaranteed to earn at least $400.

In certain areas during certain times, HopSkipDrive may offer CareDrivers more time to complete 40 rides as a Primary CareDriver. If that is the case, CareDrivers are guaranteed to earn at least $400 if they complete 40 rides as a Primary CareDriver during the Welcome to Ride Series Extension Period. An earnings guarantee means part of the money you earn comes from ride fares and part of it may come in the form of an additional payment from HopSkipDrive, if needed. Learn more about earnings guarantees here.

To see how that works for this promotion, review these examples:

  • CareDriver A claims and completes five (5) rides within the H&W Promotion Period and completes an additional twelve (12) Primary CareDriver rides within the WRS Promotion Period. The earnings from those rides add up to $325. In this case, the CareDriver will receive an additional payment of $75, for a total of $400 in earnings.

  • CareDriver B claims and completes five (5) rides within the H&W Promotion Period and completes an additional twelve (12) Primary CareDriver rides within the WRS Promotion Period. The earnings from those rides add up to $415. In this case, the CareDriver does not receive any additional payments because the CareDriver has earned the guaranteed amount already.


How can I become the Primary CareDriver for a Ride Series?

When a Rider needs a ride on a regular schedule, HopSkipDrive groups those rides together as a Ride Series. As a CareDriver, you can choose to claim the Ride Series, becoming the Primary CareDriver. This means you commit to claiming and completing at least 80% of the rides in the series and this gives you early access to claim rides in the series before other CareDrivers.

When does the WRS Promotion Period start?

The WRS Promotion Period starts the day you are certified as a CareDriver. The day you first see this promotion become available is based on when you complete your first 5 rides. This does not change the expiration date of the WRS Promotion Period. 

Can rides count toward both the Hello & Welcome promotion and the Welcome to Ride Series promotion at the same time?

Yes. As a newly certified CareDriver, you may be eligible for both the Hello & Welcome promotion and the Welcome to Ride Series promotion at the same time provided you have completed five (5) rides within the H&W Promotion Period.

Only rides you complete as a Primary CareDriver within the H&W Promotion Period and after meeting the eligibility requirements for each promotion will count toward both promotions. Additionally, you are eligible for both earnings guarantees provided you meet the terms and conditions for each one.

What happens if a ride I claim is canceled?

Sometimes Ride Organizers cancel a ride. This can happen because the Rider is sick, the school has a snow day, or the ride is simply not needed. For this promotion, a canceled ride will count toward your total if the Ride Organizer was the one who canceled it.
