The School District of Philadelphia has certain additional requirements for CareDrivers who drive their students.
Timeline: It can take several weeks to be approved for the School District of Philadelphia Advanced Qualification. However, you are free to claim other rides in your area while you complete the process.
Obtaining the School District of Philadelphia Advanced Qualification
Follow the steps below to obtain the School District of Philadelphia Advanced Qualification:
- Step One: Complete the Pub 117 Vehicle Driver Training Course
- Step Two: Complete and Pass a Drug Test
Step One: Complete the Pub 117 Vehicle Driver Training Course
The Pub 117 Vehicle Driver Training course is a four-hour in-person class required for anyone driving a vehicle for the School District of Philadelphia. Classes are offered almost every Thursday.
You will receive an email with a link to sign up for the course. Once you have signed up, you can continue with the next steps in the application process. However, you will not be approved for the Advanced Qualification until you have attended and completed the course. 
Step Two: Complete and Pass a Drug Test
HopSkipDrive works with a company called Azova for drug testing.
Azova has shipped a drug test to your home address on file. You should have received an email from Azova with a voucher code. Once you receive your test in the mail, follow these instructions to set up a proctored appointment with an Azova team member. Remember, do not open your test kit until you are on the proctored call and are directed to do so.
After you have completed the drug test, enter the date of the test in Fountain. HopSkipDrive will receive the results directly from Azova.
After HopSkipDrive receives your PUB117 completion certificate from the School District of Philadelphia and your drug test results from Azova, we will then submit your information to the school district for approval.
When HopSkipDrive receives approval from the school district (generally in 1-2 weeks) we will add the Advanced Qualification to your profile and School District of Philadelphia rides will be unlocked and available for you to claim.
