If you are the subject of a robbery or attempted robbery while performing a ride, follow these recommendations for your safety and the safety of your Riders:
-
Remain calm and do not resist
Do not take any action that may jeopardize your safety or the safety of your Rider(s). Do not make any quick movements.
-
Cooperate, follow directions, but do not offer more than what’s asked for
Do not argue. If you have to move or reach into your pockets to give the robber what they want, tell them what you’re going to do and why.
-
Take note of the robber's appearance
We understand a robbery attempt may occur quickly, but remembering features (height, age, hair, race, clothing, tattoos) is important when filing a report.
-
Notice what the robber does so you can include it in your report
If there is more than one accomplice, pay attention to any conversations they have with one another. Do they use each others names or nicknames? Do they mention any locations?
Try to remember what they touch during the robbery so that police can check those areas for fingerprints
After the robbery, immediately go to a safe location and make sure you and all Riders inside the vehicle are safe and away from any immediate danger
-
Once you feel secure, please call 911 to report the crime
After speaking with police, call 844-HOP-SKIP so we can assist you further. Our Safe Ride Support team will contact the Ride Organizer to make them aware of the situation and can help get another CareDriver to the location to pick up the Rider and continue with the scheduled ride, if needed.
| Note: HopSkipDrive enforces a strict no-weapons policy during rides and on any HopSkipDrive property. Neither CareDrivers nor Riders are permitted to carry a weapon during a ride, whether legally permitted to do so or not. This policy is to ensure the safety and comfort of all users of the HopSkipDrive platform. |
