It is critical that all CareDrivers understand local requirements relating to car seats and booster seats. Failure to appropriately use car seats and booster seats not only endangers the riders but violates both state law and the HopSkipDrive Terms of Use.
Requirements by state
This information is provided as a resource only. It is the CareDriver's sole and exclusive responsibility to understand and adhere to local requirements regarding child restraints. CareDrivers are encouraged to independently confirm and review car seat and booster seat requirements, and seek additional support from local resources when needed.
CareDrivers with the Car Seat Advanced Qualification should follow the instructions and requirements to safely install and use HopSkipDrive’s approved car seat model, as outlined here.
If you ever encounter a rider you believe should be riding in a booster or car seat but who does not have this indicated in the app, contact HopSkipDrive support before beginning the ride. We will work with the ride organizer to determine whether there is an error.
