HopSkipDrive is not a tax advisor and cannot provide advice about taxes or income reporting.
As an independent contractor, you are responsible for reporting your own income and for paying the taxes on that income. HopSkipDrive complies with the IRS requirements that can be found on the IRS website. For specific questions about your personal taxes, please contact your tax professional.
Below you can find answers to common questions about taxes for HopSkipDrive CareDrivers.
What tax documents will I receive from HopSkipDrive?
HopSkipDrive will issue a 1099 form to CareDrivers who earned $600 or more on the HopSkipDrive platform in 2024.
We partner with Stripe to deliver tax documents. If you are eligible to receive a 1099, you will receive an email from Stripe (express@stripe.com) requesting that you update your tax information and confirm your 1099 delivery preferences. You must log in to Stripe to confirm your information and delivery preferences.
Learn more about using Stripe here.
| Important: to ensure the information on your 1099 is correct and you receive your 1099 promptly, please confirm your information and delivery preferences by December 31st, 2024. Follow the instructions in the email you receive from Stripe. |
In January 2025 you will be notified when your 1099 has been issued and is available for download.
What if I did not receive a 1099 from HopSkipDrive?
If you earned less than $600 on the HopSkipDrive platform in 2024, you will not receive a 1099. You can check your earnings by reviewing your bank statements for deposits from Kidlivery or by reviewing your weekly earnings emails.
If your earnings from HopSkipDrive do not reach the reporting threshold in a tax year, this does not relieve you from your obligation to report and pay taxes for income received through the HopSkipDrive platform. We encourage you to consult with your tax advisor to better understand your requirement to report. For more information, visit the IRS website.
