Fare Calculation
The total Driver Fee you earn for a ride as a HopSkipDrive CareDriver is made up of a base fare plus additional payment for longer or more time-consuming trips. In addition, some rides may also be eligible for fare boosts or promotions.
Base Fare
You will earn at least the base fare for any ride you complete. The base fare amount varies by area. You will earn an additional amount for rides that are longer or more time consuming to complete.

Fare Boosts and Promotions
Some rides may be eligible for special fare boosts or promotions.
Fare boosts are additional payments on top of the regular Driver Fees for a specific ride. When you browse available rides you'll see any boost amounts listed and calculated as part of the estimated total fare.
Note: Any fare boosts will count toward Washington State minimum earnings. Learn more about Washington State minimum earnings in this article. |
Promotions are extra payments you can earn by completing the promotion terms, such as a set number of rides in a given time period. You receive these payments when you complete all the requirements for the promotion, so the payments won't be calculated as part of the estimated fare for any individual ride.
You can find information about current promotions and track your progress on the Promotions tab.
You'll also see when a ride qualifies toward a promotion or has a fare boost attached when looking at Available Rides.
See Your Estimated Earnings
When browsing rides, you'll see an estimated fare. This fare is based on estimated time and distance for the ride, plus any boost that may apply to the ride.
For rides you have already claimed, you can see the estimated fare in the Ride Details. Once you check in for the ride, you are guaranteed to earn at least that estimated amount.
Fare Protection
With HopSkipDrive's Fare Protection, you will always earn at least the estimated amount shown at the time you check in for the ride, but you may earn more if the ride is longer than the estimate. You can see your protected earnings when you check in for the ride.
