Although we do everything we can to encourage CareDrivers to claim rides available to them, we can’t absolutely guarantee a CareDriver for every ride. However, almost all rides are matched to CareDrivers. We do not control CareDrivers’ schedules, but we use many different strategies to ensure rides will have drivers. HopSkipDrive rides are matched a week in advance at the earliest.
If, for some reason, you do not have a CareDriver for your ride, you will never be blindsided by this information. We let parents know at 8pm the night before a ride, 9am the day of the ride, and 30 minutes before the ride’s start time. You can also always check the status of your ride in your HopSkipDrive app or on the website. If you don’t see a CareDriver’s profile information listed with your ride, a CareDriver has not yet claimed your ride.
Our goal is to keep you in the loop so you can make alternate arrangements when you feel it’s necessary. If you choose to make other plans, you can cancel any ride through the HopSkipDrive app or website. There is never a fee for canceling a ride that a CareDriver has not yet claimed.
